About ECG
ECG was established in 1998 with the intention of creating a “Forum for Engineers in the Gampaha District to share their experiences and contribute towards the betterment of the society.” ECG is a non profit organization and consists of over 200 members at present and as a practice, ECG holds quarterly events and the activities are mainly concentrated on professional, educational entertainment, sports and excursions and organized to suit whole family members.
History
The Engineers’ Circle was established on 4th October 1998 with participation of twenty Engineers resideing in and around of Gampaha. Present membership is well over two hundred and spread over the government sector as well as the private sector. During last three years, ECG has organized several family get-togethers at various places, visits to factories and the presentations on various topics to enhance the knowledge. Our social contributions were distribution of food items and cloths to the boarder villagers of terrorist affected area at Thanthirimale and launching of scholarship programme for children of army soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the safe guard of the mother land.
